Queen Broadview
Village
Running
along Queen Street East between the Don River and
Empire Avenue is the Queen Broadview Village.
This area is the oldest part of Riverdale and though
many of the businesses have moved, the architecture
has remained the same. This interesting architecture
is that of no other. Many of the buildings have oversize
display windows and elaborate detailing. These buildings
now are home to antique and collectable shops, cafes
and restaurants.
The
Queen Broadview Village is also home
to outdoor art. Starting at the Queen Street
East Bridge one will see the "Time and a Clock".
This piece is carried over to Queen and Empire
where steel banners line the sidewalk.
With
a mixture of old and new, Queen Broadview
Village is a lively area that specializes
in commercial activity.
