We managed, after years of effort, to stop Walmart from moving in and destroying our community. We were told this morning that the TTC is applying to build a Maintainence Yard for the new streetcars on Eastern Avenue. Are we a dumping ground for anything that the West end doesn't want? We lost the fight to host a huge gas fired electricity plant and the expanded Island Airport (guess where those planes come in over) and the OMB is even going against the wishes of the (wealthy) Beach residents. Did we miss something here in the east end? Was there a City wide decree that anything goes in the East End?
